August 3rd Pitt Community College
Welcome to Hoops for Hope, an annual outdoor 3 on 3 basketball tournament to help support single moms in Pitt County. With 12 different divisions we have a spot for all our basketball enthusiasts no matter what your age is, your height or your skill level. So grab three of your closest friends and a good pair of sneakers and join us for this one day community event.
Event will include the tournament, contests, prizes, giveaways and raffle and food trucks! So don’t miss out, join us Saturday, August 3rd in the parking lots of the Pitt Community College campus. The Nehemiah Initiative is a Pitt County based non-profit with a mission to “Empower, Transform, and Restore Families to Emotional, Mental, Spiritual, and Physical Wholeness”. Our Vision is to “rebuild the families of our community as if they are our own”. Specifically we seek to wrap around single moms, enabling them to get on their feet; empower their children to grow into their fullest potential, and develop authentic men while combating fatherlessness in our community.

CONTESTS
All contests will occur on the Sunday of the Tournament at the Championship court.
11:00 am Free Throw Contest ~ $10 to participate
- Each participant will be given three warm up shots
- Contest will be the best of 10 free throws.
- Tie breaker will be best of 5 free throws followed by Best of 3 free throws (if necessary) until a winner is established.
- Players must start and end the shots behind the free throw line.
2:00 pm Three Point Contest ~ $10 to participate
- Each participant will be allowed one rebounder
- Each participant will be given three warm up shots
- Contest will be the most shots made within a 60 second timed period
- Tie breaker will be the most shots made during a 30 second timed period
- Players must start their shot and release the ball behind the 3 – Point Line
DIVISIONS
- You may register your team with a minimum of 3 players and no more than 4 players.
- Each team will need a designated captain. All Youth and Middle School teams will need a designated adult to act as their coach and be present at all times the team is on the court playing.
- Each team will be prepared to wear a specific color shirt for the two days of play.
- Brackets will be released the Wednesday before the set date of the tournament.
