Meet Our Elders
James Haskins
James Haskins has lived in Greenville, North Carolina for over 15 years working in both the public and private sectors. He received his BS in Business Administration from Florida A&M University in 1996 and his MBA from East Carolina University in 2013. He most recently served as executive director of Building Hope Community Life Center from 2014 to 2017 and currently serves as the board president. James also serves as executive pastor of GCF Church, and he served on the GCF board from 2017 to 2022. He and his wife Angela have been married for 15 years and have three kids – Matthew, Naomi, and Jada.
Branson Sheets
Branson is the lead pastor of Covenant Church in Greenville, North Carolina, having served for over 18 years there. He is originally from Fuquay-Varina and is a graduate of Wake Forest University and Asbury Theological Seminary. Branson has served as an ordained pastor for 36 years.
Branson and his wife Teff have four children, all who reside in Greenville. They also are the proud grandparents of six grandsons! As Covenant Church is a dedicated partner with the Nehemiah Project, Branson is very pleased to serve alongside Gregg and the team at the Nehemiah Project.
Adam Widowski
Pastor Adam Widowski has been the lead pastor of ministry at Opendoor Church in Winterville, North Carolina since August of 2018. Opendoor Church has multiple campuses in Eastern North Carolina and has an education side that houses two Child Development Centers, an Elementary School (kindergarten through fifth grade), and an After School Program. Pastor Adam currently is a part of the lead team and leads all aspects of ministry at Opendoor Church—Women’s, Men’s, Marriage and Family, and Generations (kids, students, young adults).
Before entering full-time ministry, Pastor Adam was a lay leader and served on the church counsel at Living Way Foursquare Church in Amarillo, Texas. He led as the generations pastor and served on the management team at Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy Witcher.
Pastor Adam has been married to his beautiful wife, Kristi, for 33 years. Pastor Adam and Kristi have a talented son that is highly involved in the creative field. They also have a daughter that does event planning and son-in-law who serves as the Youth Pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church. Pastor Adam and Kristi’s newest joy is their grandson that was born in 2021!
